Are alloy wheels also suitable for winter?

2011-09-01

Until recently, the winter season for the automotive industry was associated with steel rims, and alloy wheels were a privilege reserved for a few. Fortunately, this stereotype is slowly fading away, and aluminum rims decorating cars are becoming more and more common in winter.

Steel rims
can corrode after one season. The main factor is salt and substances used to defrost bituminous surfaces. Then there is a need to purchase hubcaps or repaint them. The price difference, often the main reason why we do not choose alloy wheels, is melting away.

Rims, after multiple painting , are finally secured with a layer of colorless varnish, which protects the aluminum against external environmental factors, including oxidation.
