There are some interesting tire propositions in 2022. As in the case of car premieres of flagship models, there are flagship tire models intended for prestigious, expensive, fast and extraordinary vehicles. Of course, the dimensions of the tires are then not very standard and it is rather vain to expect that they can be used for cars used by the ordinary "Kowalski". Which does not mean that the technologies used in the novelties will not start to be used in the most popular tire sizes for the average road user. As in the most modern solutions of car equipment or safety systems, such new designs or rubber compounds are transferred to lower classes or models over time.

Continental UltraContact - a recipe for longevity.

Continental boasts a new rubber compound called YellowChili and a new tread pattern ensuring very long mileage. Thanks to this, we will not have to worry about buying new tires for a long time. The solid and durable construction of the Ultra Shield guarantees resistance to damage during everyday use. A greater number of specially designed and profiled sipes effectively drains water, which has an impact on a shorter braking distance on dry or wet surfaces, and special dampers in the tread cuts reduce noise. All this to ensure that each of our journeys is safe and comfortable. The tire is manufactured for rims from 14 to 20 inches, with a width of 155 to 245 millimeters, with profiles from 80 to 40 percent.

Continental - SportContact 7 - pushes the boundaries even further.

Continuation of the well-known, valued and proven Continental tread - SportContact 6, launched on the market already 6 years ago. The first selected tire sizes on the Polish market appeared in the fall of 2021 and there are 42 sizes available for rims with a diameter of 19 to 23 inches, and in the next year the product line will be further expanded.

The rubber compound used significantly affects the slower wear of tires, and the proprietary Goodyear SoundComfort technology reduces noise emissions, which goes hand in hand with a quiet engine. NEXEN is a proposal of a South Korean manufacturer with 70 years of experience, present in 130 countries around the world. The N'Fera Sport SU2 tread is the successor to the SU1 model. Customers will get even better performance with improved tire behavior on wet asphalt. The tires have four asymmetric wide grooves, which translates into great efficiency in draining water, which is directly related to minimizing the risk of aquaplaning. A stiff triple center block is used for increased stability and a sense of control of the vehicle. Specially designed side sipes will allow you to take turns with even greater speed and grip. This model is available for wheels from 17 to 20 inches wide, 225-265 mm. NEXEN has been classified in the mid-range tire class with a price close to the budget classes. Great value for money.

This is a Japanese manufacturer's proposal for high-powered passenger vehicles. It uses a modern rubber compound called High Grip. The composition of the mixture contributes to great performance and above-average adhesion, regardless of whether it is a dry or wet surface. The improved rubber formula and the improved tread pattern significantly reduce the noise level, which improves the overall comfort of the entire journey. Toyo Proxes Comfort is an efficient tire designed for everyday driving in changing weather conditions, and the solutions used in it guarantee stability and comfort. Self-sealing tires - Pirelli Seal Inside and Continental Contiseal.

The newest idea for the problem of puncture rubber are SELF-SEALING tires. The principle of operation for each tire manufacturer is the same, the solutions differ in the details of the materials used, i.e. an additional layer of sticky filling under the tread or inside the tire. This coating allows for spontaneous "patching" of damage that does not exceed 5 mm, which is the most popular and possible failure in the form of punctures by nails, glass, sharp stones. This system will fulfill its function both after removing the object stuck in the tire or leaving it in the tread. After e.g. a nail has been pulled out, the coating will seal the puncture site under the influence of pressure pushing the sealing layer out. Such a solution works immediately and to such an extent that we will not even be aware of the resulting failure in a large percentage. Importantly, it does not affect the way you drive a car.

It is a very functional, practical and comfortable solution that will allow you to reach your destination without unnecessary stress. No need to stop the car, look for a safe place, e.g. on a highway or a gravel road with low hardness, and no forced physical work in the form of unscrewing and carrying a heavy wheel.

Run Flat tires.

The names of Run Flat tires used by the manufacturers are different: Bridgestone - RFT, Continental - SSR, GoodYear - RunOnFlat, Dunlop - RunOnFlat, Pirelli - Self-Supporting Run Flat, Michelin - ZP, Yokohama - ZPS. Tires of this type have a special structure of reinforced sidewalls, and the entire tire can support the weight of the car, which can still travel at high speeds for a distance of up to 80 km. The tires of this have their own advantages and disadvantages.

❌ some Run Flat tires require the use of a special Eh1 / Eh1 + rim,
❌ it is not recommended to repair such a tire after a puncture and driving the recommended distance on it, the tire should be dismantled and disposed of.
