What is ADAC?
ADAC stands for the German Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club. The Automobile Club is the largest motorcyclists' association and the second largest automobile club in the world. It has over 17 million members, including over 1.5 million motorcyclists. It was founded in 1903 in Stuttgart and has been building its reputation ever since. ADAC tests tires, new car models, car seats, roadside assistance, and prepares road safety reports.
ADAC tested 205/55 R16 and 225/50 R17 tires this year. The tires were subjected to standard braking tests on various types of surfaces, the effects on fuel consumption, tire life and driving comfort were examined. Each tire was checked for aquaplaning resistance. A grade was assigned to each category (grade scale 0.6-5.5, the lower the number the better). Let's check which tires did the best and received a recommendation. Before the details of the summer tire ranking, watch a short video report from the testing prepared by the ADAC automobile club.
