It can be said that the outback model created a new car segment in the 90s, i.e. the off-road Kombi popular today, the outback was from the beginning a raised version of the LEGACY model, which has not changed to this day, the fifth generation is also based on LEGACY. Subaru offers the Outback with two naturally aspirated petrol engines of 2.5 or 3.6 liters (not available in the EU) and permanent 4-wheel drive. The drive is distributed by a hydraulically controlled, wet multi-plate clutch to open differentials - the drive is not designed for driving in hard terrain, but rather for full control over gravel, snow, mud and it works great in such conditions. The car is spacious, although it is not among the leaders in this field, after the facelift the car gained better interior materials, a larger screen on the dashboard and systems that facilitate driving, only a continuously variable automatic transmission is available.
