195/65 R15 summer tire tests 2015

2015-03-13

The most popular tire size on our market is still 195/65 R15, so we'll present the results of our latest tests for the 2015 summer season. The increasingly wide range of options means manufacturers are competing for every customer, striving to produce tires with the best possible performance at an attractive price.

Tire tests are being conducted by, among others, the international organization ADAC, but their results are not yet available. However, the results of tests by the Polish magazine Auto Świat, which conducted its own tests of tires in the 195/65 R15 size, are already available.

The tires were subjected to various tests. The most important ones included wet/dry braking, aquaplaning, and noise levels. Tire durability was also taken into account, which influences the actual cost of operating the tires.

On dry asphalt, the Dunlop Sport BluResponse achieved the best result (braking distance from 100 km/h was only 35.5 m). On wet surfaces, the Continental Premium Contact 5 won (42.5 m). It should be noted that the Dunlop tire was only 0.8 m slower. The Dunlop tire also achieved the shortest lap time in the wet, with a similar result for the Goodyear tires.

In terms of aquaplaning, the Uniroyal Rain Expert performed best. Its directional tread pattern is ideal for these conditions. Second place went to the Pirelli Cinturato P1, which lost traction at a speed 7 km/h higher.

To compare the prices of individual tire models, it's important to consider their durability. Kumho tires are very attractively priced and almost as durable as the more expensive Michelins. Continental tires are not cheap and, moreover, wear out very quickly, making their maintenance extremely expensive.

Taking into account all factors and the price of the product itself, LadneFelgi.pl recommends the following tires for the 2015 season:
