5x127 16" – what does this notation mean?

“16” is the rim diameter in inches (the size of the rim you mount the tire on).
"5x127" describes the mounting method : the rim has five holes arranged in a 127mm diameter circle – this is PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) . In simpler terms: it fits a hub with 5 bolts/studs, the axes of which form a 127mm circle.

If you want to check it yourself on a 5-hole rim, measure from the center of one hole to the outer edge of the diagonal hole and compare it with the PCD table – for 5×127 the result will be close to 127 mm.
