Geneva Motor Show 2017
The Geneva Motor Show is the most important event showcasing new car models. Its history dates back to 1905, and since then, it has become a symbol of presenting the most important cars on the market. Geneva was the first venue for the Jaguar E-type and the Aston Martin DB7—vehicles that are now automotive icons. From March 9-19, 2017, eight exhibition halls were filled with most of the existing car manufacturers. Fans of coupes, convertibles, and family Kombi had the opportunity to satisfy their curiosity. Although we couldn't attend the event in person, we'll try to present a few interesting presentations.

A car that has the potential to gain immense popularity is the KIA Stinger, a premium passenger car with a coupe-inspired silhouette. The Korean manufacturer opted for rear-wheel drive, which will undoubtedly attract fans of sporty driving. Of course, the vehicle can also be equipped with four-wheel drive. The most powerful engine version boasts 365 hp, powered by a 3.3-liter engine with two turbochargers. Of course, more economical options are also available – the 2.0T with 255 hp and the 2.2CRDi with 200 hp.

Also on display was the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo, the Kombi version of the luxury four-door car introduced in 2009. As you can see, the manufacturer, which until recently was associated solely with sports models, is successfully expanding into other segments. The car will be available in both four- and five-seater versions.

Fans of fast hatchbacks have stumbled upon the Ford Fiesta ST, which boasts a three-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing 200 hp. This allows the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with a cylinder deactivation function to improve fuel economy. FORD has applied new wheel designs and refreshed the exterior to add a touch of aggression.

Another more down-to-earth car available to showgoers, but already in showrooms, was the new BMW 5 Series. It resembles the larger 7 Series limousine. Depending on the engine version chosen, the car can deliver between 190 and 340 horsepower. The generous standard equipment will definitely win fans of the G30, especially since the car can be purchased with the "xDrive" four-wheel drive system.

Swedish brand Volvo proudly presented the new XC60, which now bears a striking resemblance to the XC90. As befits the Scandinavian manufacturer's philosophy, the car is equipped with a range of safety systems, which are already included in the base model. Engine versions offer a range of power outputs from 190 to 407 hp, with the highest power coming from the hybrid version.
Drivers who enjoy extreme lap times have been introduced to the latest version of the 911 GT3. This time, the German brand offers its customers 400 hp from a 4-liter boxer engine that captivates our ears with the sound of its 9,000-rpm crankshaft. For improved handling, rear-axle steering and lowered suspension are featured. The PDK gearbox allows the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
The fair, of course, was much larger than it could be described in a few sentences. Therefore, we encourage you to participate in this type of event, as it is an unforgettable experience for every automotive fan.
