The Porsche 911 (991.2) is a facelifted version of the 991 generation, which, contrary to appearances, brought one of the biggest changes in the model's history. The FaceLifting meant the switch to turbocharging across almost the entire Carrera range, which sparked much debate among purists. From the outside, it was an evolution. Technically, it was a clear step into a new era.

Characteristic

Stylistically, the 991.2 retains the classic 911 proportions – a long rear end, a distinctively sloping roofline, and a low front end. Post-facelift changes include redesigned bumpers, new air intakes, and a modified LED light bar connecting the taillights. The overall look is more modern, yet still unmistakably 911 – without experimenting with form. The interior features the new Porsche Communication Management infotainment system with a larger touchscreen. The cockpit remains classic – a central analog tachometer and driver-focused ergonomics remain the cornerstones of the design. Build quality is very high, and the driving position is low and natural.

The most significant change occurred under the hood. The naturally aspirated 3.4 and 3.8 engines were replaced by 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged boxer engines. The Carrera versions offer significantly more torque available from low revs, translating into improved agility and quicker acceleration. A seven-speed manual gearbox remains available, as does the very responsive PDK gearbox. Driving the 991.2 retains the typical 911 balance – precise front end, excellent rear axle traction, and excellent high-speed stability. The steering is direct and responsive, although the electric power steering provides slightly less feedback than previous generations. The adaptive PASM suspension allows for a clear shift between comfort and sport modes. Versions like the GTS and Turbo already offer supercar-level performance while retaining everyday usability – a trait that has been one of the 911's greatest strengths for decades.
