The Compact MPV was launched in 2005. This model is based on a C1 floorboard from Ford, which was also used in the construction of the Mazda 3. This MPV model is characterized by the fact that it has a sliding side door and the vehicle cabin has 7 seats, configured 2 seats in 3 rows with one smaller fold-out armchair in the middle row. In the USA, for safety reasons, the vehicle was only sold in a 6-seater version. The car was available with engines providing power from 115 to 155 HP for gasoline units. Diesel engines have 110 and 143HP. A 4-wheel drive version was also offered on the Japanese market. In 2008 there was a facelift for Mazda, which brought refreshed bumpers, wheels and LED rear lamps. Air conditioning vents for the rear seats have been added, as well as an external AUX audio input. The year 2010 enriched Mazda 5 with traction control and ESP.
