In 2001, the station wagon and Sport coupe were also produced. The Sport coupe version was produced to compete with the BMW 3 Series Compact. However, Mercedes-Benz did not collect laurels and was discontinued in 2005 in the USA, and in Canada it was replaced by a B-class model. At the beginning, engines from previous models were used, but since 2002 completely new engines began to be used. An interesting fact is that the W203 received the highest score in the Euro NCAP crash test. Mercedes-Benz W203 underwent a facelift in 2004, which involved replacing the rear lamps, changing the interior appearance and gently refreshing the entire model. The model ceased to be produced in 2006.

Mercedes-Benz W203 was sported and in 2001 Mercedes-Benz W203 AMG was created. W203 was produced in 2 versions. The first version had a 3.2-liter 6-cylinder engine and was called Mercedes-Benz C32 AMG, while the second version of the Mercedes-Benz C30 AMG had a 5-liter 3.0-liter engine. In 2004, the C32 was replaced with the C55 AMG. Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG had an 8-cylinder engine with a capacity of 5.5 liters.
