17-inch 5x112 alloy wheels

In this section of our rim shop, we offer products in one of the most popular and widely used sizes: 17" 5x112" alloy wheels. This designation represents three important pieces of information describing the rim: the overall diameter of the rim, the number of mounting bolt holes, and the bolt spacing. Let's briefly discuss this designation.

Alloy wheels 17 5x112 - what does this marking mean?

The number 17 is the overall diameter of the rim. It is expressed in inches, which is why you might also see a rim labeled 5x112 17 inches or 17″. The next two numbers, 5x112, indicate the number and spacing of the bolts securing the rim to the vehicle's hub. This parameter for each rim is always given in the A x B [mm] format. A is the number of mounting holes. B is the hole spacing, or more precisely, the diameter of the circle containing the holes. They are always evenly spaced. The diameter of this circle, unlike the diameter of the entire rim, is expressed in mm. The number of mounting holes must, of course, correspond to the number of bolts (studs) on the given vehicle's hub. 17 5x112 aluminum rims therefore have five holes arranged axially on a circle with a diameter of 112 mm.

How do you measure the bolt spacing on a rim? This question might arise if you can't verify this information any other way. Fortunately, measuring it yourself is simple. For rims with an odd number of bolt holes, add up three values. These are:

  • diameter of the central hole,
  • distance between the edge of the central hole and the edge of the screw hole multiplied by 2,
  • screw hole diameter.

Aluminum rims are a product with numerous defining parameters. These parameters allow for precise matching of the appropriate rim to a given vehicle, as well as the matching tire. The basic parameters of each rim are: diameter, number of bolt holes, bolt spacing, width, ET, and center bore diameter. All of these parameters are geometric parameters, meaning they refer to the rim's dimensions.

Choose durable 17” 5x112 aluminum rims for your car

As mentioned, 17" 5x112" alloy wheels are a very popular choice for many car manufacturers. They can be found primarily on vehicles from German brands such as Audi, BMW, Cupra (VAG), MERCEDES, SEAT (VAG), Skoda (VAG), and Volkswagen. Rims in this size and with this bolt pattern can also be found on cars such as the Infiniti Q30 and QX30, and the Toyota Supra. This is all thanks to platforms borrowed from German manufacturers—platforms that determine, among other things, the bolt pattern.

Of course, not all alloy wheels bearing the 5x112 17-inch designation are the same. They may differ in terms of ET value, width, or center bore diameter. Our store offers a wide selection of 17-inch alloy wheels with different values for each parameter.
