bolt length 28 mm – why does it matter?

The working thread length of this product is 28 mm, which means that when choosing bolts, you must take into account the wheel design, hub depth and spacer thickness, if spacers are used. If the bolt turns out to be too short, there is a risk that the wheel may loosen while driving. On the other hand, if the bolt is too long, it may protrude and corrode, and in extreme cases it may damage brake system components. Correctly selected wheel mounting bolt ensure safe seating of the wheel on the hub, proper clamping force and driving stability. Recommended minimum thread engagement depth and number of turns depending on thread diameter and thread pitch: min. 9 turns, approx. 12 mm thread engagement length.

➡ Wrench size for tightening bolts – 17, 19. Adapters are included in the set.
➡ Remove one standard mounting bolt from each wheel. Install the locking bolt in these places. Do not use grease / copper paste on the thread or mounting surface.
➡ Bolt are best tightened using a torque wrench, which ensures the correct clamping force.
➡ The wheel tightening torque recommended by the manufacturer can be found in the vehicle owner's manual.
➡ If bolts are tightened too weakly, this may cause steering wheel vibration. Ignoring this may lead to the bolts coming loose and the wheel falling off.
➡ If bolts are tightened too strongly, the thread may be damaged.
➡ Remember to tighten the wheels in a cross pattern to distribute the tightening force evenly.
➡ After driving 100 km, their tightening torque should be checked again to make sure the bolt have not loosened.
