  1. The pre-cast rim is placed on the mold and then set in motion.
  2. Under the influence of high temperature and roller pressure, the rim gradually gains shape and strength.
  3. The rolling process ends when the expected shape and parameters are achieved. The rim then undergoes final finishing and painting.

Testing and research ensure high-quality alloy wheels

We offer a high-quality product thanks to the use of Flow Forming technology , and the use of SILP - SILVER + POLISHED LIP paints to finish the rims, which are corrosion-resistant and do not react with aggressive road substances. This applies to rims without polished elements - powder-coated in a solid color. Information about the finish can be found in the product specifications.

The production process of Smitherim wheels ends with a series of tests, during which numerous tests are conducted. Only alloy wheels that have passed all the following tests are introduced to the market:

Aluminum wheel manufacturing technology: affects their strength, weight, and aesthetics. There are three main production methods:

  • Gravity casting – the most popular method, in which molten aluminum alloy is poured into a mold. It provides good quality and an affordable price, but the wheels are slightly heavier than those made with other technologies.

  • Low-pressure casting – an improved version of gravity casting, where the alloy is forced into the mold under pressure. This makes the wheels lighter and more durable.

  • Flow Forming – a technology combining casting with rolling, which increases strength and reduces weight, bringing the wheel’s parameters closer to forged models.

  • Forging – the most advanced technique, in which the wheel is formed under enormous pressure. Forged wheels are extremely light and strong but also the most expensive.
